Second Grade Bilingual - Advanced Bilingual Teacher

Ever since I was a little girl I used to play school with my dolls and then my cousin that arrived from Spain. I really enjoyed teaching them and enjoyed seeing my cousin grow in speaking English. I enjoyed being in school and had a deep love for learning. I wanted to continue to learn and explore new ideas alongside my own students. As I began teaching I was encouraged to teach ELL students and saw the impact I would have one them as they learn a new language.

An outstanding teacher is someone who is dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic about both their subject matter and the success of their students. They possess a unique ability to inspire, motivate, and empower those they teach, leaving a lasting positive impact on their lives. Outstanding teachers demonstrate empathy and understanding towards their students, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected. To ensure that my students are connected to the lessons taught and the world around them I like to use realia in my classroom. I also enjoy planning field trips for my students every year. Incorporating multimedia resources, such as videos, interactive simulations, or digital tools, can help to bring lessons to life and capture students' attention.

Child Development Associate

I love helping children and serving the community so to make it into a career I knew in my heart I should continue studying. That's when I started in Union County College in Cranford and obtained my certification as a Child Development Associates (CDA). In 2018, I had the opportunity to transfer from security guard to CDA.

This position allows me to interact with children who are just beginning to develop their learning skills. I love children and it fills my heart with joy to see them grow so they can achieve their academic goals. The responsibility that I have as a teacher's assistant is to help the teacher with the students and to form a team to reinforce teaching. Also, prepare all necessary materials to help and support students in class as well as to practice different skills, help my teacher supervise the safety of all students, help with the bulletin boards every month and as well as to keep the classroom clean and organized. For me Being part of the Elizabeth Public School District, help me to be motivated to excel in my position as a CDA.
